Carbon-based organics removal
Removal of natural organic matter and color via GAC/BAC and/or NF, often as a precursor to disinfection or RO.
STANDARD SPECIFICATION:
– Approach: GAC bed EBCT 8–20 min, or NF with NOM retention
– Pre‑oxidation and coagulation as needed
INDUSTRY USE CASES:
– Surface water treatment and beverage water
– Color peaks and seasonal events
PRETREATMENT / INTEGRATION NOTES:
– Breakthrough monitoring (UV254/TOC) for GAC
– NF selected when hardness/sulfate control also required

INLET REQUIREMENTS:
– UV254/TOC baseline known; low TSS for adsorbers/membranes
